From our first camps in 2021—when we started in Sallynoggin with a hall we weren’t even allowed to enter—Active Ireland has been about getting children and teens outdoors, no matter what. We spent that first summer proving that nature is the best classroom for learning and adventure.
Six seasons later, we are growing. We’ve become a local choice for outdoor education and summer camps, where we welcome families from both local and international backgrounds. Our groups explore the Irish outdoors together, creating a natural environment for visiting students to pick up the language through adventure while everyone focuses on the fun. We continue to build our community on the same promise: making friends, making memories, and loving the outdoors. For 2026, we are bringing our camps to more families than ever, with new venues at Sutton and Wicklow AFC, alongside our first residential getaway at Knockree.

Our 5-day residential getaway at Knockree is designed specifically for ages 13–16. It's a week of independence and discovery in the Wicklow mountains.

We provide a space where learning happens through outdoor adventure. Our programs are built around teaching kids practical skills and environmental awareness, helping them grow in confidence while they discover the world around them.

Our Killiney Hill and our new Sutton & Wicklow camps are built around outdoor education and adventure. Children learn practical skills like bushcraft, navigation, and orienteering while exploring the forests, local trails & coastline. It’s a chance to learn how to respect the environment, discover local landmarks, and pick up new skills—with plenty of time for playing on the beach and S’mores by the fire. We focus on being outdoors, active and having fun.
Whether its volleyball on the beach, sand castle competitions, tug of war or forest games – we are all about making friends, making memories and loving the outdoors.

Independence through adventure is at the heart of our Teen Camps, where we focus on stepping up the challenge and building real confidence. We lean into hands-on activities like bushcraft, forest first aid, pioneering, and slacklining, giving everyone the space to master new skills. It’s a chance to ditch the screens for a week to enjoy the outdoors with plenty of time for beach games, swimming, and exploring the local trails together. It’s an opportunity to build genuine friendships and show you’re never too old for outdoor learning—or for hot dogs and s’mores around the fire. This summer, you can join our local day camps in Killiney, Sutton, and Wicklow, or join our new 5-day residential getaway at Knockree.)

Our Cycle & Craft camps are the perfect mix of energy and creativity. Children learn to ride with confidence, picking up road safety and bike maintenance while out in the fresh air. We focus on hands-on creativity through different crafts and design. It’s a great way to build coordination and safety knowledge in a supportive outdoor setting. By balancing time on the bikes with time spent making and creating, kids develop new skills and lasting friendships throughout a busy, active week.
We want to encourage children to cycle more and be safe on our roads – we equip them with the knowledge and skills to cycle safely.

Our programs promote growth through hands-on discovery, environmental awareness, and physical activity.

We have a local indoor base to ensure the learning and adventure never stop, whatever the weather.

Children leave with new skills, lasting friendships, and a genuine love for the outdoors—tired and happy.
